Serving all gender and sexual orientations
Now offering in-person evening and weekend sessions in Victoria, BC

Your innate style to approach and handle life is unique. And it may stop you from getting what you really want.

We have made our services available to help you process and overcome blocks in your life, feel a greater sense of control, and increase acceptance of life’s challenges.

The solutions are easier than you think.

If you:

  • Are looking for help in the comfort of your own home
  • Have tried talk therapy, and it just feels like something was missing
  • Have never tried counselling, feel alone and need someone to talk to
  • Feel like you’re being hijacked by emotions
  • Are a couple needing support
  • Are a therapist yourself needing extra support
  • Are transitioning to adulthood or retirement
  • Are ready to deal with childhood experiences that have left you with anxiety or depression

We are an inclusive practice, serving adults with all variations of gender and sexual orientations.

You may be going through a major life transition (divorce, transitioning into adulthood, retirement, job changes) or have a general feeling of:

  • Isolation
  • Restlessness
  • Sadness
  • Lethargy
  • Panic
  • Wanting to escape

Or you may experience:

  • Sleeping less
  • Sleeping more
  • Suicidal ideation
  • Non-Suicidal Self Harm (cutting, burning, choking)
  • Always on edge
  • Little to no motivation
  • Childhood traumas that impact you today

If you have an unhealthy relationship with food or your body and find yourself:

  • Restricting
  • Binge/Compulsive Eating
  • Night Eating Syndrome
  • Over-Exercising
  • Obsessively body-checking
  • Self-sabotaging

Working on these issues and what underlying needs they are trying to fill, can be the route.

"When we couple, we inherit the other persons past. Partners need to be trained to how best to deal with you - how the other person works and how to work them in the best possible way. Nobody comes pretrained." Stan Tatkin

Whether you are in a relationship, or want to be one, learning the following can help:

  • Losing strategies in a relationship
  • Your attachment style and how it impacts others
  • Healthy boundaries
  • About grandiosity, entitlement, withdrawal or shameful stances in a relationship

Working on these issues is not only about insight and learning either – actually taking steps and be willing to lean into your growth edge is the effective way to get from where you are now to where you want to be.

"Only the wounded physician heals…and then only to the extent he has healed himself."
- Carl Jung

Are you a therapist who needs extra support?

It’s absolutely imperative for healers to get support to avoid burn-out, notice and work through blind-spots and triggers, to be and feel most effective with clients.

You may:

  • Feel like an imposter
  • Feel unconfident
  • Feel burnt out
  • Be so overwhelmed with your personal life it’s affecting your work

Trauma is not in the event but in how your system responds to the event. Trauma can impact how you approach life. It is common to have these common effects after going through a traumatic incident, experiencing chronic trauma, or having childhood trauma: fear, distrust, shame, anger, isolation, and/or with coping behaviours like eating, drinking, non-suicidal self injury. We have experienced clinicians who specialize in trauma and work with many populations, including First Nations (through First Nations Health Authority) and those who experience car accidents (through ICBC). We use: Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST), Dynamic Attachment Re-patterning experience (DARe) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Do you get defensive or verbally abuse, rage, call names, try to assert your power over someone else and don't know how to stop? It might feel like you are out of control or like the anger makes you black out. Oftentimes, your outburst will be followed by deep shame and regret. You are tired of hurting your loved ones but don't know how to stop. Gerardo can help you discover what's truly under the anger, heal the root cause, and teach you new skills to express yourself in a healthy way.

Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you. Jean-Paul Sartre

Irvin Yalom calls the four ultimate concerns of life: death, isolation, freedom, and meaninglessness. Regardless if you sit in the therapist chair or the client chair, each one of us struggle with these concerns at one point or another. Weaving the meaning we make of these concerns with the story of us: who we are, how we came to be, where we are going, can help us become an expert in our own lives. Gerardo is our resident expert to help clients through this process. Book a free consult today.
